Northstars Apparel provides embroidery, monogramming, screen printing, and custom designs for your athletic, fan, sports team, personal and corporate wear. We customize and sell hats, bags, masks, uniforms, promotional items and any clothing for your needs.
Northstars Apparel was created in 2012 by Armando DaCosta. Armando started the company because he was tired of paying astronomical prices for customized logos and printing when purchasing uniforms for his non-profit organization, the CT Northstars Basketball Club. To save money, he decided that it was time to do it himself.
He began printing uniforms for his 16 basketball teams in 2012. Over time other clubs started requesting him to help them with their uniform and printing needs. Armando then decided it was time to start an official business to help coaches, players, and organizations find affordable customized clothing.
You can now find Armando and Northstars Apparel at the Hartford, CT store.
Armando DaCosta - Owner
Armando DaCosta has participated in the sport of basketball for over 25 years throughout Connecticut. In 1983 Armando began directing the Catholic Youth Organization's basketball program, “C.Y.O.”, and continues to handle deanery matters including organizing and directing league games and playoffs.
Armando runs an Amateur Athletics Union, "A.A.U.", organization, the Connecticut Northstars, which has become one of the largest boys and girls basketball programs in the state of Connecticut. Northstars has enabled hundreds of student athletes to play competitive basketball at the collegiate level. He has coached both boys and girls basketball from 6th grade to high school. Armando’s coaching experience has varied greatly from an assistant varsity girls coach at Weaver High School, girls freshman basketball at Enfield High, and boys’ high school basketball at Darian to coaching travel and C.Y.O. teams. He currently is coaching a Connecticut Northstars’s girls team.
After founding the CT Northstars, Armando decided to create NorthStars Apparel in 2012 in order to provide consumers with affordable and customizable printed products. He now has a physical store location in Hartford, Connecticut.
